Cosmos

At the core of Pablo Serrano’s practice is a pursuit of a visual poetics rather than rhetoric, using poetry not as a decorative device, but as an active visual resource. When poetry steps away from its verbal origin and slips into visual art or music, it gains the freedom to become ineffable. As John Cage famously noted regarding this productive emptiness: "I have nothing to say and I am saying it, and that is poetry."

Aligned more closely with Eastern calligraphic traditions and Zen painting than with Western Neo-Expressionism or Franz Kline's abstraction, Serrano's process resembles a serene, quiet search. Pictorial accidents find their form across clean surfaces—a movement where the outcome is unknown, yet certainty remains.

Cosmos leans into a pre-modern intuition of beauty: one where discourse fades to leave behind only the tangible mark of painterly action. Rejecting rigid boundaries between life, art, and subjectivity, Serrano merges these elements through rhythm, economy of means, and asymmetrical, overlapping stains. The resulting constellation of harmonies and dissonances creates a space where silence yields to motion, positioning the artist's gestures as poetic metaphors that echo the ultimate triumph of individual expression.
